AWARD WILL RECOGNIZE PROJECTS CITY-WIDE
May 18, 2012 |UncategorizedOn Thursday July 19 DeSales Community Housing Corporation will recognize people and projects that have made St. Louis a better place to live with the 2012 DeSales Better Neighborhoods Award. This is the first year for the city-wide award, although DeSales has long recognized individual improvement efforts within its primary service area.
The Better Neighborhoods Award will be presented to 5 significant development and improvement projects in neighborhoods in different parts of the city. They include Botanical Heights, Carondelet, Fox Park, The Greater Ville, and Tower Grove East. In addition, the Better Neighborhoods Person of the Year Award will be presented to an individual for outstanding achievement in improving neighborhoods.
The Better Neighborhoods Award event will be held at one of the projects that will be recognized, the new home of City Garden Montessori School at 1618 Tower Grove Ave. in Botanical Heights. City Garden is one of the highest performing charter schools in Missouri and their new facility is a great example of the creative re-use of two old commercial buildings.
The guest emcee Better Neighborhoods Awards presentation will be Debbie Monterrey of KMOX radio. The event will be free and open to the public but reservations are required. Please contact Jeff Grace at jgrace@desaleshousing.com or 314-776-5444 ext.2 to make a reservation.

March 8, 2012 |Uncategorized
Since June of 2009 Fox Grove Management, DeSales Community Housing Corporation’s property management company, has managed affordable housing properties for Northside Community Housing, Inc. in The Ville neighborhood in north St. Louis. In 2011 NCHI, in partnership with the Greater Ville Neighborhood Preservation Commission, completed its largest project to date, the 40-unit Dick Gregory Place Apartments. Fox Grove was retained as the property management company for the new project, which received development assistance from the Regional Housing and Community Development Alliance (RHCDA).
The project was leased up ahead of schedule, with all units occupied by qualified tenants within 30 days of completion. The successful lease-up was led by Fox Grove’s Leasing Assistant Luchae Manning and Director of Property Management Stan Presson.
